Mr. Gregory W. Ferraro

President and Founder

As president and founder of The Ferraro Group, a public relations and public affairs company, Mr. Ferraro has more than 20 years of experience working in the public affairs arena. He has worked extensively with the Nevada Resort Association, CenturyLink, NV Energy, EMPLOYERS, Frias Transportation, Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center, ING, JPMorgan Chase, Nevada Title Company, The Western Folklife Center, Nevada Commission on Economic Development, NextLight Renewable Energy, March of Dimes and Edgewood Companies.

In December of 2008, Mr. Ferraro led a merger of his firm with Las Vegas-based impress communications which resulted in The Ferraro Group having 12 employees in offices in Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City, NV.

Prior to forming The Ferraro Group in 2004, Mr. Ferraro spent 12 years at R&R Partners, a regional communications company based in Las Vegas, where he served as president of the Government and Public Affairs division. In that position, he helped oversee the agency’s public relations, opinion research, integrated marketing and government affairs services.

Before joining R&R in 1993, Mr. Ferraro was the assistant to the county manager in Clark County, Nevada (greater Las Vegas) where he was the County spokesperson and issue manager for the fastest growing urban county in the nation. In the late 1980’s, Mr. Ferraro worked at McCarran International Airport as public relations specialist.

In addition, Mr. Ferraro lobbied in Washington, D.C. for a large utility trade association in 1989 and 1990 and since has been active in numerous state capitals advocating for clients on legislation including but not limited to utility regulation, business and general commercial law, water planning, transportation funding, telecommunications reform, health care and various tax matters.

Today, Mr. Ferraro is recognized as one of the top lobbyists in the Nevada Legislature.

Upon graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism in 1985, Mr. Ferraro went to work in Washington, D.C. for U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt in his role as general chairman of the Republican Party, a special position created for Senator Laxalt by President Ronald Reagan. Mr. Ferraro served as assistant to the general chairman.

Mr. Ferraro serves as a director for First Independent Bank of Nevada and as a trustee of The Nature Conservancy, and trustee emeritus of The University of Nevada Foundation. He is also a member of the Executive Advisory Committee of the E.L. Wiegand Foundation and the Board of Advisers for the Reynolds School of Journalism at the University of Nevada, Reno.

In 2008, Mr. Ferraro was inducted into the Northern Nevada Business Leaders Hall of Fame by Junior Achievement. In 2004, Mr. Ferraro was commissioned by Governor Kenny Guinn to serve a four-year term on the Nevada Judicial Discipline Commission. In 2007, he was named Chairman of the Judicial Discipline Commission.

Mr. Ferraro and his wife Carolyn live in Reno, NV with their three children, Tommy, Tisha and Joe.
