As principal of The Ferraro Group’s Phoenix office, Heather Miles Austin’s responsibilities include overseeing strategic public relations and marketing activities, media training, crisis communications, corporate social responsibility, social media strategy, community relations, business development, and overseeing the operations of the Phoenix office and its staff. In addition to serving a variety of healthcare, education, commercial development, real estate, adventure travel and fitness clients in the southwest, Tangerine Communications partnered with local advertising agencies such as Davidson & Belluso for clients such as Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona, TruWest Credit Union and the City of Phoenix Economic Development Council.
Prior to Tangerine Communications, Ms. Austin strategized with a variety of regional and national public relations clients while working at Phoenix advertising agencies Off Madison Ave. and E.B. Lane. Additionally, Ms. Austin forged long-term community partnerships while serving in media relations, special events and marketing management roles with Mesa Community College and Northern Arizona University. Additionally, Ms. Austin continues to be a freelance contributor with various publications.
A current board member for East Valley Partnership, Ms. Austin has volunteered with community organizations such as Arizona’s Dental Mission of Mercy, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley – Arizona, Valley of the Sun United Way, Boy Scouts of America, and was a previous board member of C.A.R.E. partnership. A proud Lumberjack, Ms. Austin was the outstanding public relations graduate of Northern Arizona University.
