client relations, creating public relations and marketing plans, media relations, social media strategy, community relations, business development, and overseeing the operations of the Phoenix office and its staff. Ms. Austin owned and operated the public relations and social media firm Tangerine Communications for four years prior to merging with The Ferraro Group in 2014. Under Ms. Austin’s leadership, Tangerine’s revenues doubled each year of operations.
In addition to serving a variety of commercial development, real estate, adventure travel, and fitness clients in Phoenix, Flagstaff, Seattle, and Salt Lake, Tangerine Communications partnered with local advertising agencies such as Davidson & Belluso for the Girls Leadership Academy of Arizona, Jambo Park, TruWest Credit Union and the City of Phoenix Economic Development Council.
Prior to Tangerine Communications, Ms. Austin strategized with a variety of regional and national public relations clients while working at Phoenix advertising agencies Off Madison Ave. and E.B. Lane. Additionally, Ms. Austin forged long-term community partnerships while serving in media relations, special events and marketing management roles with Mesa Community College and Northern Arizona University.
Additionally, Ms. Austin continues to be a freelance contributor with several local lifestyle and national fitness publications.
Ms. Austin has volunteered with community organizations such as Valley of the Sun United Way and the Boy Scouts of America, was a previous board member of C.A.R.E. partnership, served as the All-Arizona Statewide Committee Chair from 2006 to 2008, Mesa Community College’s Employee Recognition Committee Chair from 2003 to 2008 and was a Chair Leadership Academy graduate in 2007.
A proud Lumberjack, Ms. Austin was the outstanding public relations graduate of Northern Arizona University in December 2000.
