‘Exploring Behavioral Health Before and At End-Of-Life Care’ Symposium at 14th Annual Multicultural Luncheon & Conference
Nathan Adelson Hospice, Southern Nevada’s largest non-profit hospice, today announced that compelling keynote speaker, David Feldman, Ph.D., will present the Symposium: “Exploring Behavioral Health Before and At End-Of-Life Care” at the 14th Annual Multicultural Luncheon & Conference on Feb. 23, 2018 at the Renaissance Hotel in Las Vegas. Registration is at 9 a.m. with the conference scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) being offered at this time. The luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Especially timely for our community, is that Dr. Feldman will address the ways in which people personally grow in the wake of trauma and loss. He will touch on the research that shows how people tend to deepen in their spirituality, discover or deepen relationships, and find important sources of personal strength during post-traumatic growth. He will also present on stories of survivors and practical strategies for nurturing post-traumatic growth. Dr. Feldman recently completed two decades of research on post-traumatic growth and published his findings in his book, “Supersurvivors.”
Dr. Feldman’s presentation will offer the following objectives:
- Learn about the possibilities of resilience and growth in the aftermath of trauma, loss, illness, and adversity.
- Understand the research that supports posttraumatic growth.
- Develop a better understanding of the conditions that support growth after trauma and loss.
“Our annual symposium educates a broad spectrum of community members about ways to positively impact the end-of-life journey and assist family members with the bereavement process,” said Carole Fisher, president and CEO of Nathan Adelson Hospice.
The Multicultural Luncheon unites people from various cultures and faiths. It consistently relays important information and tools for industry professionals and the community regarding healthcare trends and end-of-life care.
