Station Casinos and Grand Canyon Development Partners Team Up to Provide New Headquarters to Southern Nevada Children First

LAS VEGAS – Southern Nevada Children First (SNCF), a nonprofit that addresses the needs of Nevada’s homeless pregnant and parenting youth and young adults, will be welcoming a new home thanks to Station Casinos and Grand Canyon Development Partners.

The new facility, located at 3755 W. Lake Mead Blvd. in North Las Vegas, will serve as the headquarters for Southern Nevada Children First. Station Casinos donated more than $100,000 toward construction costs and is donating the building to the non-profit organization rent-free. Grand Canyon Development Partners is handling the construction management at no charge.

The approximate 20,000 square-foot facility will help SNCF expand its reach. Relocating to this location allows growth in the number of youths served through intensive case management, education assistance, and access to food, safety, shelter and mental health care. SNCF is expanding its mental and behavioral health services to include Parent Child Interaction Therapy. PCIT is an evidenced-based treatment for young children with emotional and behavioral disorders that place an emphasis on improving the quality of the parent-child relationship, changing parent-child interaction patterns, and helping to improve maladaptive parenting skills.

Grand Canyon Development Partners is overseeing a number of renovations for the new building. Among them are the conversion of restrooms for ADA compliance, roofing repairs, remodeling the space to create new offices, therapy rooms and children-friendly spaces. Construction began in May and is scheduled to be completed in early July. The project is valued at $115,000.

To commemorate the new headquarters, Southern Nevada Children First held a “Tile Breaking Ceremony” on June 9. The presentation included dignitaries breaking a piece of tile to help mark the occasion. Guests were also given tours of the new building to view the ongoing construction progress.
