Tom Loranger

Mr. Loranger was raised in Reno, Nevada and attended the University of Nevada-Reno where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. After graduating, Mr. Loranger was accepted into U.S. Senator Paul Laxalt’s internship program in Washington, D.C. After the completion of his internship, Mr. Loranger was asked to remain in Laxalt’s Washington, D.C. Senate office where he was appointed assistant press secretary. He eventually became press secretary and then chief of staff before Laxalt retired from the Senate in 1987.

Thereafter, Mr. Loranger joined Laxalt in the private sector. They affiliated with a major New York City and then a Washington, D.C.-based law firm before forming The Paul Laxalt Group, a government relations firm based in the nation’s capital. The firm opened in 1990 and remained in existence until the passing of Senator Laxalt in 2018. The Paul Laxalt Group’s clients have been merged into The Ferraro Group.
