Yolanda King, a well-known figure in government administration and finance, has been appointed as President of the Nevada Taxpayers Association (NTA). This appointment follows the retirement of Cindy Creighton.
King has served as the Clark County CEO/County Manager from 2016-2022, the Clark County Chief Financial Officer from 2013-2016, and the Clark County Director of Budget and Financial Planning from 2006-2013. She received her undergraduate degree from UNLV and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
“I was so impressed with Yolanda during the interview process. She has such an intimate knowledge of local government finances and taxation. This experience will be invaluable to her during the legislative process” said Barbara Smith Campbell.
Campbell is a Principal at the Ferraro Group and specializes in taxation. She served as a member and Chairman of the Nevada Tax Commission for 20 years. She is a past Chair of the NTA and served on the Presidential Selection Committee.
Beyond her role at the NTA, King is involved in various boards and committees, including the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and the Desert Research Institute Foundation. Her past involvements include positions such as Treasurer and Finance Committee Chair of the Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance and Vice Chair of the Nevada Public Employees’ Retirement System Board.
The NTA is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that was founded in 1922 and has earned a reputation for thorough, credible, objective, and comprehensive analysis and advocacy focused on fiscal, regulatory, and tax policies. It serves as an important source of information for its members, both in terms of historical research and for current events.
