CLARK COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT TO CONDUCT SWIFT WATER TRAINING EXERCISE AT WET’N’WILD LAS VEGAS
(Las Vegas) – Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas today announced that it will host dozens of Clark County Fire Department firefighters for a swift water training exercise at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on April 22. Firefighters will utilize the park’s lazy river and wave pool as they prepare for flashflood and high water rescue scenarios.
“Flash flooding is a real issue in Las Vegas, and there aren’t many places where these professionals can train and prepare,” said Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas General Manager Takuya Ohki. “Our park is an ideal training ground, so we’ve invited the fire department to train and practice their efforts here.”
Additional training sessions will be held at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on April 25 and 29 and May 5-6. Clark County Fire Department Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Buchanan will be on site on to answer questions about the training exercises.
