Smith’s Food & Drug Stores announced plans to build Nevada’s first Smith’s Marketplace store in Nevada as part of the Skye Canyon Marketplace shopping development. The store is slated to open summer 2017.
The 123,000 square foot multi-department store will consist of a full sized Smith’s grocery store along with another 60,000 square feet of household necessities and décor items; apparel for the entire family; dine-in or take-out food options; a drive-through pharmacy; Starbucks; Murray’s Cheese shop and many other surprises.
“We are excited to bring our Smith’s Marketplace format to Las Vegas,” said Kenny Kimball, Smith’s president. “This store will create 250 new jobs in the community and offer an exciting shopping experience for our customers in Skye Canyon.”
Smith’s currently operates ten Marketplace stores in Utah, and one in New Mexico.
Smith’s is a division of the Kroger Co. (NYSE:KR), one of the nation’s largest retail grocers.
